The tool analyses any contractor agreement against the five Gateway criteria — written agreement, non-exclusivity, flexibility, no termination penalty for declining work, and independent advice opportunity — and returns a structured compliance report with clause-level findings, risk profile, and remediation wording suggestions. It is used by NZ business owners, accountants and employment law advisors to verify contractor classification, identify gaps, and prepare clean contractor relationships before changes go to a lawyer.
